Quick Tech Hobby Over 75,000 Radio Control Products

MTC9700  Airstrike EP RTF 34 inch

With its classic civil aviation lines," everything you need” packaging and super quick assembly time, the AirStrike is a compact, 34-inch wingspan trainer that transports and stores easily. Produced from durable yet lightweight materials, the AirStrike is made with the strength needed by new pilots.

The “Cessna-like” design provides a stable, easy-to-control airplane, while the included 3 channel 72 MHz transmitter features controls for variable speed, rudder and elevator in the traditional “Mode 2” format appreciated by R/C club instructors. Because it’s electric, the AirStrike can be flown in areas off-limits to larger, fuel-powered models! A rechargeable 8.4 volt battery pack and automatic 12 volt DC peak charger provide the necessary power for clean, quiet and enjoyable flights. The AirStrike contains an auto-cutoff circuit that automatically reduces power to the motor when the battery pack nears the end of its charge, while leaving ample reserve radio power for gliding and a successful landing.

A comprehensive owners manual guides you step by step through final assembly, pre-flight checks and first flights. If you¹ve hesitated to try R/C because you thought it was too expensive, think again. Flight School has never been more affordable

What is the Air Strike made of?
The wings and tail are made of molded foam for strength and light weight. The fuselage is made of a high strength plastic similar to the material used in a wiffle-ball bat.

What else do I need to purchase in addition to the airplane?
8 "AA" alkaline batteries are all that's needed!

What does the radio system control?
Elevator, rudder and variable throttle

What is the range of the radio system?
Almost ½ mile! (If you can see the aircraft, you'll be able to control it!)

Can I fly at the same time as a friend?
Yes, the Air Strike is available on two different radio frequencies on the 72MHZ band (channel 46/72.710 and channel 54/72.870)

What happens when the airborne battery runs out of charge?
The Air Strike contains an auto-cutoff circuit that automatically turns off the motor when the battery pack runs low, yet leaves enough power for the flight controls to safely glide the aircraft in for a landing.

How long does it take to assemble the Air Strike? To charge the battery pack?
It takes about 5 minutes to assemble the aircraft (no tools required) and 20-30 minutes to charge the 8.4v battery.

How long does the Air Strike fly before the battery needs recharging?
Depending on conditions, the Air Strike will fly from 4 to 6 minutes per flight (at full throttle), longer if you can catch thermals.

Can the Air Strike take off from the ground?
Although capable of ROG (rise-off-ground) takeoffs, we don't recommend it. First, the battery power required to ROG costs about 1-1 ½ minutes of flight time. Second, with ground takeoffs there is very little margin for error with the aircraft so close to the ground. Hand-launching allows a new pilot to relax a second and watch the airplane start flying with several feet of altitude prior to making a control decision.

Can the charger work from 110v house current?
No. However, an AC-DC converter with lighter socket may be purchased from Megatech to allow the Air Strike battery to be charged inside the home.

How fast does the Air Strike fly?
About 40-50MPH

How much room is needed to fly the Air Strike?
We suggest a minimum area the size of two football fields free of buildings, trees, wires or other obstructions.

What type of wind conditions can the Air Strike be flown in?
We recommend not flying in winds over 10MPH.

What if the Air Strike crashes?
Megatech carries each and every spare and replacement part for the Air Strike at reasonable prices. Any damaged part can easily be replaced!
