Vulcano was built on the Thames, by Thorneycroft in 1905 for the Portuguese Navy. She was built primarily for training officers and men men in the art of torpedo and mine work. The ship design allows for a wealth of detail to be included, making this one of the more complex models in the Caldercraft range.
With a detailed GRP hull, precision cut ply decks and over 500 cast white metal fittings. Ships boats are moulded from styrene, all the dowel, wire and cordage are provided. Performance on the water is true to scale and with twin propellers is highly manoeuvrable.
