What's the Difference?

FM systems tend to be more sophisticated, and this is reflected in the price.  There are entry-level systems, but the majority of FM radios have more advanced features, and the top-end computer radios are exclusively FM.  FM systems also have better resistance to glitching and interference

AM is a good choice; the systems are affordable and easy to understand and set up.  They are often included in ready-to-run packages and work well for basic sport or fun running.  The downside is that AM systems don't offer the advanced features available with FM systems, and they are somewhat more susceptible to electrical "noise" or interference from nearby channels.
